Eavesdropping

I went home this weekend to visit my parents and I did some eavesdropping on some of my parent’s conversations and a family’s conversation at Walmart.

Parents
My parents were watching the Florida State vs. Samford football game on the TV out in the living room, Florida State cornerback Greg Reid just returned a punt for a touchdown.
“Wow, look at this” my dad says to my mom.
“I feel so bad for the other team, they look like they have no idea what’s going on” my mom replies.
“I think the kicker was trying to kick it out of bounds and made a mistake”
“I think there should be some sort of mercy rule because I don’t think this game should go on any more” my mom says while shaking her head.
“This is just a warm up game, it looks like Florida isn’t doing all that well in their game” my dad explains.
“Oh really? Who are they playing?” my mom asks.
“Miami of Ohio”
“Are they a good team?”
“I don’t really know, I haven’t really seen them play before”
“Oh”

Wal-Mart Family
I was standing in line at Wal-Mart behind a family of a dad, mom, and 2 young boys that didn’t look to be too much older than 6 or 7 years old. They were going through the self checkout line.
“Honey, hand me your Gatorade bottle” the mom says to 1 of the little boys.
“Should I pay in cash?” the dad asks the mom.
“Let’s wait and see how much it is first” the mom replies.
“Mom! James took my toy!” yells 1 of the little kids while starting to cry.
“James, you give him back his toy right now and say you’re sorry” the mom says sternly to the other little boy.
James hands the toy back to his brother.
“Sorry” he says with his head down.
“How much is it?” the mom asks the dad.
“$21.86”
“Just pay in cash, do you have enough?” she asks.
“Let me see, yeah, we have to go by the bank though after we leave” the dad says while inserting the money into the machine.
“Come on guys, let’s go” the dad says to the little boys as they exit the line with their items.
