Eavesdropping

September 4, 2010
Approximate time 7:32pm

Me and three of my friends were on our way to Suwannee to grab dinner and found out that it closes at 7:30pm along with many of other group of people because of Labor day. At the point we found ourselves just standing around socializing and trying to figure out what we should eat for dinner. At that point I couldn't help but noticing this girl gossiping with this other girl and decided to take note of her conversation for our assignment.

Girl 1: Oh my god, so over the weekend I had so much fun. I love being a sorority girl!
Girl 2: What sorority are you in again?
Girl 1: Kappa kappa gamma
Girl 2: How do you like it?
Girl 1: I absolutely love it! But anyway, over the weekend I kissed these two guys. Ugh and I cannot choose between them! The first one was this really cute boy name Brad met on Friday night at the Chi Phi house and the second guys name was Steve and I met him at Chubbys on Saturday.
Girl 2: Well who do you like more?
Girl 1: I have no idea. They are both so nice but Steve is so much cuter. So I think I'm going to test him out first. Don't you have a boyfriend?
Girl 2: Yeah for two years now, Tim.
Girl 1: I bet you guys are like madly in love!
Girl 2: (LAUGH) Yes I am.
Girl 1: Yeah I'm not trying to find my "Tim," like I'm not trying to find the love of my life. I just want to find someone I can enjoy being with for the time being because if I find that one guy I feel like I'm pretty much locking myself down for the rest of your college years from meeting other guys and having other boyfriends... you know what I mean?
Girl 2: Yeah (LAUGH) I guess you can say that!
Girl 1: I'm not trying to find Mr. Right. I'm trying to find a Mr. Right Now!
Girl 1 and Girl 2: (LAUGH)

  1. Hmm... White class here we come. I'm sensing a trend with most of the ones I've read that are college related, including my own. That's a little bit terrifying, non? And I'm very surprised that she was talking about this so close to a social area. That's the kind of thing you'd think someone would want to be kept a secret. I wonder if something like this would effect her status in her sorority. I have no idea how those work, despite the fact that my sister was a proud Kappa Delta for her entire college career. Perhaps I should learn up on them.
